Airport Meet and Greet Service

Our friendly University Welcome Team will collect you from the airport and take you on a coach to the University of Birmingham free of charge. University Welcome representatives will be present at Birmingham International Airport from 09:30 - 18:00 on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th September. We regret that we are unable to offer an airport collection service on other days, or from alternative airports. Who is the Service for?

This service is available for new students coming to study at the University of Birmingham in September. If you are bringing relatives who will not be students at the University please visit our travel guidance page for alternative travel arrangements.

Booking a Seat

If you would like to use this service you muct book a seat in advance; please allow at least 90 minutes for you to go through passport control, customs, collect your baggage and find the Welcome team at the airport. If you change your flight please contact us at internationalwelcome@contacts.ac.uk as soon as possible so that we are able to amend/cancel your booking.

Please note that students are only allowed to book one seat on the airport collection service.

We reserve the right to amend or cancel bookings if there is not at least 90 minutes between landing and the time of the coach reservation.

Baggage

You will only be allowed one large piece of baggage and one small piece of hand baggage on the coach. If you have more than this, please make your own arrangements to get these shipped to the UK, or make your own arrangements to travel with your baggage to the University.

How to Find us at the Airport

The University Welcome Team will be wearing yellow t-shirts with ‘University of Birmingham’ printed on them, and they will be holding up a ‘University of Birmingham’ sign. Staff at Birmingham International Airport will be located at Arrivals on the ground floor.

When you arrive at the airport please let a member of the University Welcome team know that you are here. If your flight was delayed we will see if there is a seat available on a later coach. If there are no seats available, we will direct you to the train station or taxi stand so that you are able to travel to the University at your own expense.

How Long Does the coach Take?

The coach from Birmingham International Airport takes approximately an hour to travel to the University of Birmingham

To reserve you a place for this event, the University needs to collect data from you. The information will be retained for 3 months.
